Climate Beneficial Wool

A FIBER THAT REACHES BEYOND ‘NATURAL’

Produced by sheep raised in the USA, Certified Climate Beneficial Wool™ is truly a game changer in the fashion industry. The ranches which produce this wool are inspected and held to a strict standard of regenerative ranching and farming techniques.

A CARBON NEGATIVE PRODUCT

Each pound of wool produced represents hundreds of pounds of carbon removed from the atmosphere! Learn more about Climate Beneficial Carbon Farming here.

SOFT LIKE MERINO

The breed of sheep typically raised on these American Climate Beneficial ranches is Rambouillet. “Rambouillet” wool is very similar in softness and quality to the more commonly known “Merino”.

Why wool?

BIODEGRADABLE AND RENEWABLE

Given that most clothing today is made of synthetic fibers that can take hundreds of years to break down, it was very important to us to work with a fiber that quickly biodegrades and provides nutrients to the environment. Since wool is a part of the natural world, it easily decomposes and replaces itself with new growth every year - making it 100% biodegradable and 100% renewable. It is part of the never ending natural carbon cycle, always returning carbon to the soil as it breaks down and becomes part of the earth again.

GOOD FOR HUMANS

Wool is also great for humans! All evidence indicates that it is non-allergenic and good for your skin. It is a “breathable” and hydrophobic fiber, which in turn creates textiles that are thermoregulating - keeping you warm in the cold and cool in the heat.

A PERFECT MATCH FOR NATURAL DYES

It is has been well tested by humans who have used it for clothing and other textiles going back thousands of years. Having been dyed with natural ingredients for much of that history, wool also has shown its great affinity for natural dyes.
